Vectran-Siri® S-12 DB are high-performance LCP ropes that have been developed for demanding applications and offer the unique characteristics of Vectran® fibers: Minimum Creep, endurance to high temperatures and superb abrasion resistance

APPLICATIONS: MOORING / TOW LINES / STS OPERATIONS (to be used with synthetic tails) / ANCHORING

Vectran-Siri® S-12 DB Ropes consist of a 12 strand High Modulus Vectran® core over-braided with a highly abrasion resistant polyester jacket.

The use of the special NikaThane-J coating application on the Vectran® fibers and the superior in-house heat-setting process provides a high quality robust rope construction with higher strength efficiency and excellent abrasion resistance. The jacket protects the High Modulus load bearing core against abrasion and UV/environmental degradation and thus prolongs its service life.

Additionally, Vectran-Siri® S-12 DB ropes are also available with the special application of Prisma® Shield Technology (under the brand of VectranPrisma-Siri® S-12 DB)

Vectran-Siri® S-12 DB ropes are an excellent wire-rope and HMPE alternative and offer several benefits:

  1. Most cost-effective ropes to purchase due to lower labor requirements in operations and decreased mooring & towing operating times (compared to wire ropes)
  2. High strength-to-size ratio, allowing for lighter weight ropes that are easier to handle (compared to wire ropes).
  3. Minimum creep
  4. Highly heat resistant
  5. 2-3 times longer service life (compared to wire ropes)

Vectran-Siri® S-12 DB ropes are produced according to the latest international standards and they comply with OCIMF's latest regulations & recommendations for the safe mooring of the tanker-LNG-LPG vessels.
