NIKA-Spectra® S1000 ropes are 12 strand High Modulus ropes. They combine the excellent properties of Honeywell's Spectra® S1000 fibers and an insuperable manufacturing process. NIKA-Spectra® S1000 ropes exhibit unmatched strength; they are 8 times stronger than steel ropes, 3 times stronger than polyester and 40% stronger than aramid (on a weight by weight comparison). Their lightweight characteristics make Nika-Spectra S1000 ropes ideal for the critical operations of the heavy shipping industry.
The use of an excellent fiber such as Honeywell’s Spectra® S1000 in a much-sophisticated production process result in a top performance rope. The use of the special NikaThane-S coating application on the S1000 fibers and the superior in-house heat-setting process provides a high quality robust rope construction with higher strength efficiency and excellent abrasion resistance. NIKA-Spectra® S1000 ropes exhibit excellent resistance to UV sunlight and weathering degradation and thus an extended service life (more than 7 years).
